Vienna International Airport is gearing up for a bustling summer travel season in 2025 with an array of new flights on offer. Travellers flying from Austria’s capital can expect an expanded network featuring more long-haul options, additional low-cost flights, and exciting new destinations.
Austrian Airlines is set to launch four new European routes, including Edinburgh, Sylt, Burgas, and Harstad/Narvik, providing travellers with a diverse selection of beach, city, and nature getaways. The airline is also reintroducing two seasonal long-haul routes to Los Angeles and Tokyo, bringing the total number of destinations served from Vienna to 127.
Low-cost carriers like Ryanair, Wizz Air, and EasyJet are enhancing Vienna’s connectivity by adding new routes and increasing frequencies on popular leisure destinations. Ryanair, for instance, is introducing a new link to Salerno on the Amalfi Coast and expanding services on various routes, while Wizz Air is launching routes to Tuzla and Sibiu.
One of the significant developments is the arrival of Scoot, Singapore Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary, which will operate non-stop flights between Vienna and Singapore using Boeing 787 Dreamliners. This new service opens up direct access to Southeast Asia, offering travellers convenient onward connections via Changi Airport.
Vienna’s summer flight schedule also includes improved links to the Middle East and Asia, with airlines like Saudia and Air Albania resuming routes to Jeddah and Tirana, respectively. Middle Eastern carriers such as Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad are maintaining robust frequencies, while airlines from East Asia like Air China, Hainan Airlines, and Taiwanese carriers are increasing their services.
German leisure airline Condor is expanding its presence in Austria by opening a base in Vienna and launching daily flights to Frankfurt. This move will facilitate connections to Condor’s wider network, particularly to long-haul destinations. Meanwhile, other Austrian airports are also introducing new routes, further enhancing travel options across the country.
Despite the overall increase in flight offerings across Austria, Vienna remains the primary gateway for international travellers. With its expanded summer schedule, the capital city continues to solidify its position as a key hub for both European and long-haul travel, providing travellers with a diverse range of destinations and flight options.
