Qatar Airways Unveils Major Global Expansion with New Routes

Qatar Airways has made headlines by announcing the launch of the world’s longest flight between Auckland and Doha, set to commence in December. This route is part of a significant expansion that includes 13 new destinations across four continents. The announcement was made by Qatar Airways’ Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, during the ITB Berlin event.

The airline’s new routes cover a wide range of regions, catering to customer demand and offering a premium travel experience. In the South West Pacific and Southeast Asia, Qatar Airways will introduce daily service to Auckland, marking its first route to New Zealand. This route will utilize the Boeing 777 aircraft, providing passengers with a comfortable and efficient journey. Additionally, the airline will launch flights to Krabi and Chiang Mai in Thailand.

In Europe, Qatar Airways will open up five new destinations, including Pisa in Italy, Sarajevo in Bosnia, Helsinki in Finland, Skopje in Macedonia, and the return to Nice in France by summer 2017. These new routes will offer travelers more options and convenience when exploring these diverse regions.

Moving to Africa, Qatar Airways plans to introduce services to Marrakech in Morocco, Windhoek in Namibia, the Seychelles, Douala and Libreville in Cameroon, and Lusaka in Zambia. These new connections will enhance connectivity between Africa and the rest of the world, facilitating tourism and business travel.

The expansion of Qatar Airways’ network comes on the heels of significant investments in infrastructure, notably the opening of Hamad International Airport two years ago. The airport, known for its advanced technology and passenger-centric facilities, serves millions of travelers annually and is poised for further growth in the coming years.

The introduction of these new routes underscores Qatar Airways’ commitment to providing a world-class travel experience and connecting passengers to exciting destinations around the globe.
