Thailand has taken a significant step in elevating Bangkok Pride 2025 into a global festival of diversity and tourism. The initiative, spearheaded by a collaboration between Siam Piwat Group, Bangkok Pride, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and other key organizations, aims to celebrate inclusivity and soft power on an international stage.
The Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 is not just a standalone event but a month-long series of activities that bring together various initiatives to promote diversity and equality. These include “The Celebration: Right to Love” campaign hosted by Siam Piwat, the Bangkok Pride Parade, the Drag Bangkok Festival, and the “Paint the City with MY PRIDE” identity campaign led by the Creative Industry and Soft Power Institute.
With a focus on inclusivity through fashion, art, performance, and design, the festival aims to position Bangkok as a premier destination for Pride celebrations and a hub for economic opportunities. The event is expected to draw over 300,000 participants, with an economic impact projected to exceed 4.5 billion baht, benefiting sectors across retail, entertainment, hospitality, and transport.
The Pride movement in Thailand has gained momentum over the years, with increasing participation and international interest. The Bangkok Pride Parade, spanning three kilometers along Rama I Road, serves as a major highlight, showcasing the city’s vibrant Pride District and its appeal as an inclusive tourism destination.
As the festival continues to grow, with support from over 70 partners, Bangkok is poised to become Asia’s Pride capital and a potential host for World Pride 2030. The event not only celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community but also serves as a platform for economic stimulus, creative industry expansion, and global recognition for Bangkok and Thailand.
The “Paint the City with MY PRIDE” campaign, launched by the Creative Industry and Soft Power Institute in collaboration with the Federation of Thai Industries, aims to promote inclusive branding across industries to enhance business value and support national tourism. This strategic initiative underscores Thailand’s readiness to host World Pride and establish itself as a key player on the global stage.
Overall, the Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 represents a significant milestone in Thailand’s journey towards embracing diversity, promoting inclusivity, and leveraging Pride as a driver for economic growth and soft power. The collaborative efforts of various stakeholders and organizations highlight the country’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
