AirAsia has issued a travel advisory for guests flying to or from Langkawi during the 17th Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2025) from May 20 to 24, 2025. During this period, airspace closures will lead to delays, urging travelers to monitor flight statuses regularly for a hassle-free journey.
Guests are encouraged to utilize the AirAsia MOVE app for self check-in, available from 14 days up to an hour before departure, streamlining the process. The app provides essential travel information, including flight updates, under the ‘Flight Status’ tab.
Counter check-in services will cater exclusively to specific groups such as individuals with reduced mobility, pregnant guests, and young travelers, ensuring their needs are met effectively. Pregnant guests beyond 27 weeks are required to furnish a doctor’s medical certificate for boarding.
For international travel, guests must adhere to varying visa requirements for each destination, which can be verified through respective embassies or consulates. The AirAsia MOVE App now offers a feature enabling travelers to upload visa documents for a seamless boarding experience.
Timely arrival at the airport is emphasized, with a recommended lead time of two hours for domestic flights and three hours for international flights. Notably, check-in counters close one hour before departure at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 2) and 45 minutes before departure at other Malaysian airports for domestic flights.
The e-Boarding Pass on the AirAsia MOVE app facilitates boarding without the need for physical passes, accepted at all AirAsia-operated airports. Baggage processes are streamlined with kiosk services for printing tags and self-bag drop, allowing guests to manage baggage allowances conveniently.
Travelers are reminded of cabin baggage limitations, permitting one piece of cabin baggage along with a laptop bag, handbag, or small bag, ensuring the combined weight of two unchecked bags does not exceed 7kg. This regulation aims to enhance operational efficiency and passenger experience.
As the aviation industry continues to evolve, airlines like AirAsia adapt by leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance customer experience. Travel advisories play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations during peak travel periods and events, underscoring the importance of proactive communication with passengers.
By embracing digital solutions and prioritizing passenger convenience, airlines can navigate challenges effectively, fostering customer loyalty and operational excellence. As the travel landscape evolves, airlines must remain agile and responsive to meet the dynamic needs of modern travelers.
