Hello, I have a 2 weeks off coming up in Feb and was hoping to get ideas on where to go. I would like to try somewhere new. Here are my likes and dislikes, along with where I have already been:
Been:
China, Taiwan, Japan (Kanto, Kansai, Okinawa), Hk/Macao, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia (peninsular), Indonesia (Bali/Lombok/Flores), Australia, New Zealand.
Likes:
Scuba, Hiking, Festivals (not the musical type, just cultural), Skiing, Exploring, /r/abandonedporn, different foods, UNESCO sites
Dislikes:
Crowded places, expensive places
Budget: ~2-3k. I am a budget traveler who doesnt mind spending extra (hence the scuba) if it is worth it. However, I am not one to look for fancy resorts, or even decent hotels. I am okay with a half way decent hostel.
Palau and Micronesia interest me, but dont have too much info on them besides the Jellyfish lake, island hoping on kayaks and camping, and those monolithic sites in Micronesia.
Paupa New Guinea and East Timor also interest me because of their cultural history, but would like some fiscal advice on these.
Mongolia sounds awesome, but Ill save it for the summer, ditto on Russia and the Stans (unless some of them are warm).
India also interests me, but would like some direction on which region to focus on.
As you can see, I am kind of all over the place, so any movies, galleries, documentaries, or websites (please no "my life is awesome" blogs) would be great.
Thanks in Advance!
