Newlyweds here! We like unconventional destinations and were thinking about taking advantage of Icelandairs extended layover, as a chance to explore Rekyjavik and then fly over to the Netherlands and drive down to Belgium. Lowest airfare for the layover (week trip total) for this summer was $1210.

What budget should we be looking at with this trip, for food, accomodations, souvenirs? Would love to keep it as affordable as possible, to make it happen. Also, any sights to see and your thoughts on Icelandair would be appreciated!
