Hey guys, Im wanting to go visit my friend in Perth from Dec. 23rd to Jan. 1st.
Hes currently traveling Australia from east to west, and will be in Perth by that time. In looking at flights, it seems that to fly from Chicago to Perth is crazy expensive, and Im wondering if any of you guys have done this or a similar flight and what the cheapest way to be.
It looks like if I flew from Chicago to Melbourne (or even New Zealand) with 1 stop inbetween and then flew from there to Perth, that would be cheaper than Chicago to Melbourne.
Maybe theres some other way that would be WAY cheaper.. curious what your experiences have been.

Obviously prices will vary, but in searching lately, it looks like its upwards of $2k for round trip Chicago to Perth, but around $1200 to go to Melbourne or NZ first. Would love some feedback, thanks!
