So my friend and I just got working holiday visas and tickets to Australia. Well arrive there in the end of May. I just found out about the backpackers tax that will be in effect from July 1st.
Ive read some articles and blog posts about it and they all make it seem like living there is going to suck as a backpacker, making barely enough to get by each month.
Will it really be that bad? Should one avoid rural work and find jobs in the cities that are paid by the hour?
Any information is appreciated as I know nothing about the situation and about living in Australia.
