Hello fellow travellers!
My husband and I are in our late 20s/early 30s and are trying to plan a trip that includes some destinations in Spain and Portugal. We love good views and are big foodies. We also love music and feeling like we can dig a little into the local culture when we travel. Neither of us have been to Europe before. I speak Spanish, but learned in Latin America so there will be a bit of a learning curve for our time in Spain.
Our biggest issue at this point is the best way to arrange these cities, and which ones we may be able to cut. We think we will only have 10 days for this trip in September this year. Im struggling a lot with having both Cordoba and Seville on here – theyre basically on there since theyre on the high speed AVE route. Granada is also beautiful from what I see – the intersection between Spanish and Arabic culture seems amazing. Heres a really rough first draft of what we are looking at:
2 – Barcelona (first day is dedicated to getting there and having a rough, jet-lagged first day)
1 – Madrid (would probably just take a foodie/history guided tour)
1 – Cordoba
1 – Seville
1 day travel to Lisbon via bus
3 – Lisbon
1 – Fly out from Lisbon
I have some extra time in Lisbon because it seems we can take some pretty amazing day trips from there. Again, we are planning on using AVE to get around Spain, so it will be rough to take 7-8 hours to get to Lisbon via bus.
Any advice is appreciated!
