Help! I’m planning a trip to Norway at the end of July with 2-3 friends for about 7 days (after another 7 days in Iceland). I’d really like to go to Bergen and see the Norwegian Fjords. So far, I’ve made note of Trolltunga, Pulpit Rock, and Sognefjord. Are there any other places we should aim to go to?

We are also thinking of renting a car and driving around instead of joining a tour group. Maybe we can do a one day tour for one of the days we’re there, but we’re thinking it will be cheaper to drive. I don’t think we’ll be able to go camping as most of us don’t have any experience/equipment. Ideally I’d like to stay in a hostel or Airbnb and just do day trips to and from each of the fjord areas. For example, day 1 we travel north, day 2 we travel east, day 3 we travel south, etc. Maybe we will have to take a train and stay in different towns? Like go from Bergen to Stavanger. I also haven’t done a lot of research yet, because I don’t even know where to start. Do all the fjords involve a lot of hiking before you can get to see a good view?
