In Need of Study Abroad Advice: Looking for the most adventurous, fun, and beautiful place in the world

Posted on October 22, 2015 | in Travellers Questions | by

Im from the pacific northwest in the U.S. and studying abroad from July-November of 2016. I tried asking this in the study abroad subreddit, but had no luck. I have the opportunity to go almost anywhere in the world. Im looking for the most fun, adventurous, and beautiful place in the world.

Specifics:

Most important: I love scenery. Mountains, water, trees, sunsets, stars, beaches, really everything. I really like exploring and finding hidden swimming holes, hot springs, views, etc. Im looking for a place where none of this is lacking and weather is good enough to enjoy it.

Important: Looking for a place with a fun city environment. Shopping, bars, and nightclubs are a must. Preferably, a city that is easy to walk around in.

Least important: Availability of adventurous activities like skydiving, bungee jumping, and biking.

Interests: Photography, videography, adrenaline-junky, skiing, biking, hiking, beaches

Dreams: Seeing the Northern Lights, skiing the alps, skydiving (really anywhere)

Places Im currently looking: Zurich, Switzerland
Wellington, New Zealand
Christchurch, New Zealand
Sydney, Australia

(Note: I have the ability to travel around the country for 2 weeks during an academic break, which I am going to take advantage of)

The basis of all that is I want a place where I can get away into nature and see something amazing if I want, or hangout in the city and enjoy myself if Im feeling social. I would prefer english as the main language, but Im more in it for the adventure. I know nothing will encompass all of this, but give it your best shot. Im open to all ideas or comments.
