Help needed

I am trying to plan a honeymoon with my soon-to-be wife and am looking for some ideas if you have any.

We are planning to go between April and June of 2016 to the Caribbean. As of now we have a budget of $6-$10k (including airfare from the west coast) and are looking to go for two weeks. We will be leaving from the west coast of the US and were thinking of going to the US Virgin Islands. We found a place on the island of St. John that is more like a condo (with a full kitchen) where we will cook for ourselves (we love to cook). We are thinking of doing this for the second week, but going to an all-inclusive for the first week.

Now the hard part is that we were thinking of doing two different countries or at the very least two different resorts. The travel time is quite a bit from the west coast to St. John in the US Virgin Islands, so we were thinking of doing the all-inclusive a big closer (with less travel time). Then, after the week at the all-inclusive, the travel time will be less to get to St. John.

If anyone has any all-inclusive ideas that would be relatively easily accessible from the west coast for the first week, while also being able to go from there to the US Virgin Island of St. John.

Also, if this idea is not a good one and you have other ideas, I am all ears.

Thank you for your help.
