Hello fellow travelers! My girlfriend and I are gearing up for a trip to Australia this coming July 1st (landing July 3rd) through 14th and are overwhelmed by the amount of "must see" stops we have learned about through blogs, tripadvisor, reddit, and our lonely planet guide. We have a total of 11 full days in country and are trying to decide on a few itinerary options (including deciding on doing Tasmania or not, Focusing on Sydney and Melbourne and then checking out NZ, Sydney to Melbourne road trip vs great ocean road) but would love some help and feedback from those who have been. Right now we are leaning towards either a Sydney/Melbourne/Tasmania trip, Sydney/Melbourne/NZ trip, or Sydney/Melbourne trip with road trips. This is taking into account that (1) we both love the outdoors but recognize that the weather during this time of year may not be ideal for a ton of outdoor activities and (2) this is probably a "once in a lifetime" trip to the area; though we dont want to cram a million things in, we dont see ourselves coming back and thats why NZ is on the table. I hope that this is enough info for some solid advice, thanks to anyone in advance that may be able to help here 🙂 we are used to traveling and playing things much more by ear, but with hostel and airbnb and campervan rentals and flights we need to lock this in sooner rather than later.
