From Vietnam to Denmark by train

Hi guys

Im, planning to go from Ho Chi Minh to Beijing by train, then taking the trans-mongolian railway to Moscow, and finishing off in Denmark Aarhus, where I live. So basically from Ho Chi Minh to Aarhus by train.
Im possibly doing this with a friend, who isnt traveling with me atm.

Currently Im in Perth, Australia, and Im staying around the South-West coast until mid-april. Then Im going on an off-road tour through the Outback where it will be impossible for me to obtain any visas.

So the plan is to go to Phnom Penh first, in mid-may to see Ankhor Wat and of course: to get a Russian and Chinese visa for the Trans-Mongolian.

From searching on google, Ive read that it should be possible, but Ive also heard that you cant get a Russian visa while abroad. So Im asking if anyone knows anything about this? And if its easier to get it here in Perth, as they speak English, or in Phnom Penh, because its a capital city

Also if anyone has any traveltips or experiences with this kind of trip, then it will be greatly appreciated!
