Can I bring this gel pet treat back to Australia from England

Posted on January 5, 2016 | in Travellers Questions | by

I am currently staying in the UK, and I return to Australia (where I live) on the 6th of February. I have a ferret back home and they dont really have many treats or foods specifically for them as they are uncommon, so I wanted to order some Beaphar Malt Paste (100g) and Beaphar Ferret Bits Treat (35g) for my ferret. However I am not too sure about the rules and regulations for bringing such products into Australia. I know we have strict food laws, but would it be alright to bring these treats in my suitcase (not hand luggage)? If the solid treats are not allowed I am happy to just bring the paste, I just wanted to see if it was ok. Thank you for your help.
