Should I sunbed before I go away travelling for 10 months

Not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes.

Backstory – I am a very very pale English lady, a true English rose. I almost translucently pale. I am going travelling to Australia for 10 months in October and seeing as it'll be going into summer over there, is it a good idea for me to use sunbeds a few times before I go? I'm not looking to build up a tan while I'm away, in fact I'd like to avoid it where possible, I just burn easily and know for a fact that my skin won't take to the sun very well regardless of how much suncream I use. I'm wanting to do a lot of outdoor activity so catching the sun is inevitable and I don't want to ruin my first few weeks with a massive bout of painful sunburn.

Will using sunbeds prior to my travels make any difference at all? I'm obviously going to be slathering on the suncream regardless, but do you think it might help soften the blow or so to speak?
