Ive booked a flight to visit Cebu and some surrounding islands in September, and Im wondering what to expect weather-wise. I know its in the middle of the rainy season, but does that mean there will be torrential downpours all day, everyday or just some rain a few hours a day? I know its impossible to predict at this point, but Im hoping you guys can better help me gauge what to expect. Also, does the rainy season affect water activities too much, such as diving and snorkeling?
My guidebook says that Samar and Leyte are dry during the rainy season, while most of the rest of the country is sopping. I was originally hoping to go to Mactan, Malapascua, Camotes Islands, Oslob and Moalboal, but now Im wondering if I should plan on going to Samar and Leyte instead and if these are really a better bet in terms of weather. (Also, if anyone has any advice on if the locations I was originally hoping to go to are worth visiting or not, Ill gladly read your thoughts.)
Lastly, should I plan my trip any differently in consideration to possible typhoons, such as pick certain types of hotels, limit island hopping, etc.?
I know this is a super specific question and will only be able to be answered by certain people, so thanks in advance for your answers!
