Recently engaged and my fiance and I are more excited about planning our honeymoon than our wedding. We are laid back, love to travel, and would like to plan our wedding date around the honeymoon destination of our choice. Initially I thought I wanted to go somewhere like Bora Bora, Fiji, Maldives, etc. Im still not opposed to incorporating a lot of relaxation and beach time into the trip, but I did want to get some other opinions re: destination. Other thoughts weve had are Greece, Dubai, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Seychelles, South Africa, and all of the beautiful islands with beach huts. Generally, I think we would like something more relaxing than a European vacation, but Im not opposed to the idea if anyone has an amazing suggestion. We arent in a huge rush to have kids, but we would like to go somewhere that we wouldnt otherwise be able to travel to easily with children. We are currently living in Texas. Id love ideas on where to go, the time of year to go, and why it would be the best honeymoon destination. Im sick of reading thousands of "10 best honeymoon destination" articles. Id rather get feedback from real people and hear about their experiences. We arent in a rush to get married either – we would rather plan our wedding date around the best time of year to travel to our honeymoon destination. Who knows, maybe well decide to elope too.
