Ibe been traveling for about a year already. I am currently in Australia on a working holiday visa working, saving, and doing some traveling. Im trying to plan together another trip for next year after I leave Australia.
Im looking at doing a 6-7 month trip from Mexico to Colombia Ill probably start in Mexico City or Cancun and go overland to Panama hitting all the major stops in between and cross the Darien Gap by boat and finish in either Bogota or Medellin.
Im a fairly experienced traveler and have been all over Europe and SE Asia.
My main goals Id like to get out of this trip is to do a Spanish immersion program for a 4-6 weeks in Guatemala and get my divemaster in Utila in Honduras which should take 4 weeks or so. Overall this leaves me with about 5 months of travel in the other places.
Is this enough time for the places I want to cover?
What type of budget should I shoot for? I like to stick to cheap hostels, street food, and cheap local transport as much as possible. I would t mind getting off the beaten track a bit either as long as its safe.
