So Ive never been much of a planner when it comes to traveling and vacations, but I have 1 week (7 full days) of vacation coming up in about a months time and I dont know what to do with it. There really isnt one place that Im just dying to visit at this time. I just kinda want to go with the flow: land someplace and then see where the wind blows me, so quantity is just as important as quality. The big stipulations I have (in no particular order) are:

I would need to be able to make a round trip in 7 days, so quantity in possible destinations/points of interest is a high priority; Ill be doing this solo so I dont really want to be slowed down unless its worth it Again, I dont really have a place in mind, but I will be traveling from the US, so traveling time will likely cut out a large number of locations (most likely Asia, Australia, Africa, S. America) and Im okay with that; this is about freedom of mobility, and those places dont strike me as places that I would be able to navigate by myself very easily. Also, Im more than okay with staying and traveling in the USA/Canada.
My travel budget (strictly for transportation/housing) is about $2000; its a relatively soft cap, but Id prefer to keep it close to that if at all possible
Im okay with driving myself for stretches of time, but the more mass transit (planes, trains, buses) the better, as I imagine this will be tiring so any extra time resting is appreciated.
