Im not sure this is the right sub but I hope some of you can help me out. Im a 23yo male from Australia heading over for the end of Canadas snow season. I was recently approved for a working holiday visa to stay up to 2 years and was wondering where I should live after the snow season? Im flying into BC so I was highly considering staying in Vancouver but then I heard about Vancouver Island and now Im torn. Which one would be better for living as far as expenses, public transport, job availability, getting the most from my trip? I was mainly picking between those two as a base but any ideas are welcome. Ive never been before so Im just flying blind at the moment.

Some background info: I really like live music of all kinds, especially EDM and hip hop so somewhere where there is live music and possibly a beach (whoe doesnt love the beach) would be awesome. Tl;dr Vancouver vs Vancouver Island for living?
