Hi, I (23/Czech) am planning on traveling to Australia after I finish my studies (Master in Economics), which should be in early 2016. I would like to stay and work there for around 6 to 12 months. However I am not eligible for a working holiday visa (my SO is from Belgium, so he will be applying for that one). I have searched for possible visas and I guess a Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457) would be an option (I dont have much background with that). I have set up an account on SkillSelect, but it tells me to state my occupation (choosing from a long list of possibilities) but as I am still studying I dont have a career yet. I have over 2 years working background in a company but it is just a part-time job next to my studies. Also I am trying to apply to skillselect because my family has contacts in Australia and might find somebody to sponsor me. I guess my question is, has anybody applied for a temporary visa while still a student, do you guys have any experiences with skillselect? I am generally just really confused right now, so I hope my post kind of makes sense..
