So my friends and I are heading to Cancun for Spring Break at the end of March. We have booked a week in one of the hotels in Cancun but are considering cutting that short by a couple of days in order to give us more time to cover Belize and Guatemala in the second week. We were thinking of going by bus directly to Caye Caulker in Belize for about 3 days and then doing the same to get to Semuc Champey in Guatemala for 3 days. However, we are flying in and out of Cancun so would this be too much travel? Are we trying to fit too much into two weeks? The reason we chose these places is based on our friends experiences in them last summer. Guatemala is completely out of the way but my friend described the day tour in the caves as the best day of his life so I think it could be worth it. We are going to Cancun for the party mainly but will be doing our best to fit in as many day activities as possible throughout the trip. Any tips on travel options would be greatly appreciated too.
