Im taking a 2 week vacation in Australia this November. Im a 20 year old male traveling alone and cheap (about $2000 USD) and was hoping some Of you guys could help me out on a few questions I had on my upcoming trip!

I have a very basic travel plan as of now:

4 days in Sydney 2 days traveling to Melbourne 3 days in Melbourne

Catching a ferry to Hobart Staying in Hobart for 4 days (and hiking some Tasmanian trails Travel back to Melbourne and fly home to California.

My questions are:

-what are some dangers I should look out for when traveling to Australia alone? -what are some safe hostels I can look into in the cities Im traveling to?

-Im traveling very cheap. Everything Im bringing will be with me in a 55L backpack

What is the public transit system like if Im going to be traveling interstate? If you could answer any of these questions I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you
